A coming of age story about two friends, Holly & Nicola, who distract themselves from their crumbling families with cheap alcohol, music and boys. Set in Midlands England as Thatcherism takes its last breath and grunge fades into Britpop, this is a story of hope and strength that uses kitchen-sink realism and working-class humour to bring you into their world

 

As school comes to an end, Nicola is craving stability and wants nothing more than a job in Miss Selfridge and to move in with her sensible boyfriend. While Holly dreams of escaping the claustrophobia of small-town life. She enrols at college to do her A'levels where she meets older, glamorous friends who are pursuing exciting futures and encourage Holly to do the same. However, as the circle splinters, she is back where she started, dealing with her mum's latest 'good news.' 

 

Holly is left homeless and vulnerable, she must find a way to survive without losing herself in the chaotic lifestyle with which she is surrounded.
